Composed in 1841, this elegant piece is one of Berlioz’s less well-known works. Based on his opera "Benvenuto Cellini", It recalls in several places the music from the Love Scene of Romeo and Juliet.
Berlioz withdrew the opera for substantial revision, and from some of the discharged material he later fashioned this Reverie Et Caprice dedicated to his violinist friend Alexandre-Joseph Artot.
